This role is crucial in driving essential sourcing metrics such as productivity, working capital optimization, lead times, service levels, and product quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve annual productivity targets of 5-7% and meet key performance indicators for designated commodities.
  • Conduct thorough research to identify and evaluate optimal sources of supply.
  • Ensure compliance with working capital goals.
  • Foster a collaborative atmosphere for selecting key vendors within assigned categories.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with preferred suppliers, serving as a subject matter expert for assigned categories.
  • Collaborate with supply chain leadership to ensure suppliers meet delivery timelines, taking necessary actions to uphold on-time delivery of approved materials.
  • Oversee contract management throughout the lifecycle with preferred vendors.
  • Support initiatives aimed at reducing inventory for assigned categories.
  • Engage in the Inventory Council to promote initiatives related to assigned categories.

Essential Functions:

  • Expand knowledge of emerging domestic and international markets to discover new supply sources.
  • Provide market insights using industry-specific indices and disseminate findings to key stakeholders.
  • Work towards minimizing lead times for assigned commodities.
  • Establish productive relationships with local procurement and management teams.
  • Design, implement, and continuously refine strategies for assigned commodities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, procurement, packaging, or equivalent experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in purchasing packaging direct materials is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with various packaging markets and suppliers.
  • Strong project management capabilities.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Strong negotiation capabilities.
  • Willingness to travel domestically up to 25% of the time.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and lead teams effectively.
  • Outstanding analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of integrity.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with internet-based procurement practices.
  • Proficient in data organization and analysis using a PC.
  • Experience with Tableau, Alteryx, MS Office Suite, and Windows is preferred.
