Job Summary

The Catering Manager will oversee all aspects of banquets and events operations at Aronimink Golf Club. This role is pivotal in enhancing the overall member and guest experience and fostering strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with clients and members to determine their needs and preferences for catering services, including menu selection, theme, and special requests.
  • Design event layouts, timelines, and budgets in coordination with clients and internal teams.
  • Ensure smooth execution of events, managing logistics, staff assignments, and on-site operations.
  • Work closely with the executive chef and culinary team to create customized menus tailored to each event.
  • Stay current with food trends and dietary preferences to offer innovative and appealing options.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing exceptional customer service from the initial inquiry through post-event follow-up.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with regular and potential clients to drive repeat business.
  • Hire, train, and schedule catering staff to ensure a high standard of service and professionalism.
  • Lead and motivate the catering team, promoting a positive work environment and teamwork.
  • Prepare and manage event budgets, ensuring profitability while maintaining high-quality service and offerings.
  • Track expenses, revenue, and profitability for each event, adjusting as needed.
  • SOURCE AND NEGOTIATE WITH THIRD-PARTY VENDORS (e.g., florists, rental companies, AV specialists) to meet the needs of each event.
  • Manage contracts, ensure compliance with terms and maintain good relationships with external partners.
  • Coordinate with accounting to ensure proper billing of all events.
  • Oversee all catering operations to ensure food quality, presentation, and service consistency.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining high sanitation standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, Event Planning, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) as a Catering Manager or similar role in a high-end catering or hospitality environment.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to multitask and manage multiple events simultaneously.
  • Previous experience in Northstar POS and Social Tables is highly preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of food and beverage operations, menu planning, and event logistics.
  • Proficiency in budgeting and financial management.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
