Position Summary
The Revenue Cycle Support Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service within the Revenue Cycle Operations. This position is essential for addressing patient billing inquiries and ensuring accurate and timely reimbursement from insurance providers while managing patient self-pay responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough research and analysis of internal requests for billing adjustments, including credit card refund requests of $500 or less, ensuring compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
- Engage with insurance providers to effectively communicate and achieve desired outcomes regarding billing inquiries.
- Identify and escalate issues that require the attention of other Revenue Cycle Operations teams, such as insurance appeals and workers' compensation cases, following established protocols.
- Adhere to all contractual obligations and maintain compliance with relevant regulations.
- Consistently follow up on inquiries requiring responses from patients or external entities.
- Provide accurate information and guidance to resolve inquiries efficiently.
Qualifications
- Proven ability to meet or exceed established productivity and quality benchmarks.
- Proficient in navigating necessary systems to research and resolve billing inquiries.
- Demonstrated skill in evaluating and addressing complex billing issues with resourcefulness.
- Strong attention to detail coupled with effective problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with healthcare billing terminology and processes, including EOBs, insurance adjudication, and patient financial responsibilities.
