Job Summary

Mechanics Bank is seeking a highly experienced Director of Wealth Management Operations to lead our Wealth Management team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing the operational activities of our Wealth Management division, ensuring seamless execution of our business strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee all Wealth Management operational activities, including trust, investment management, employee benefits trust, and private banking.
  • Develop and implement operational support for the outside RIA strategy, including policies, procedures, technology solutions, and coordination with RIAs.
  • Develop and implement operational support for the Delaware trust company, including operational policies, procedures, technology solutions, and coordination with RIAs on Delaware directed trust accounts.
  • Lead the development and execution of the Wealth Management Business Continuity Plan, including participation in disaster recovery testing.
  • Contribute to the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) program for Wealth Management, in coordination with executive management, Wealth Management senior managers, and the quality assurance testing team.
  • Develop and administer a cross-training program for all operational personnel, ensuring proper coverage and backup in all areas.
  • Make decisions regarding hiring, disciplinary action, and separation, and evaluate performance, recommending salary actions and promotions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience in Wealth Management required.
  • Knowledge of and experience in operational support of broad Wealth Management offerings, including working with outside RIAs and operational support of separate entities.
  • Experience leading the implementation of new trust accounting systems.
  • Skilled in best practices for managing risk in multifaceted Wealth Management environments.
  • Thorough knowledge of securities and security trading.
  • Thorough knowledge of Trust requirements, including account and asset transfer policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of securities tax reporting requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent leadership ability to direct and motivate subordinate staff.
  • Excellent ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent organizational ability.
Compensation

The salary range for this position is $200,000 - $275,000 annually. Final compensation will be determined by work experience, education, and/or skill level of the applicant, along with internal equity and alignment with geographic market data.
