Our client, a leading company in the waste management industry, is seeking an experienced Operations Director to join their team. As an Area Director, you will be responsible for leading the operational plan, goals, and major initiatives for the Area. This role will work closely with field operations to ensure the durability of standards and processes, providing expertise in functional areas such as fleet and equipment maintenance, environmental compliance, and safety.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Provide expertise, analysis, input, information, and actions to improve operations performance, focusing on operations activities and processes for collection and post-collection sites, as well as functional areas such as fleet maintenance, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Actively champion and support all company programs and have oversight of the Area Safety Director, Area Operations Manager, Area Driver Trainer, Area Post Collections Manager, Area Recycling Manager, and Area Engineering & Environmental Manager to support company safety initiatives.
  • Work closely with the Director of Operations to improve the performance of Supervisors, Operations Managers, and General Managers in setting priorities and goals to optimize operations.
  • Identify favorable and unfavorable trends and opportunities to reduce operating costs across the Area.
  • Direct and coordinate operations programs/plans, including but not limited to Blue Crew, emergency response, and disaster recovery efforts, and acquisition and contract start-up(s).
  • Assist in the creation, development, and implementation of the company operations strategy and other company-wide initiatives.
  • Collaborate on, aid in the establishment of, and support compliance with company standards and best practice operating procedures and processes.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Operations and local site leadership to identify issues, lead root cause analyses, and develop remedial action plans. Provide targeted expertise to lead on-site activities to address cultural, process, or operational challenges.
