Position Overview

As an associate at RSM, you will collaborate with a diverse range of clients, from small businesses to large corporations across various sectors. You will cultivate strong relationships with clients by gaining a deep understanding of their operations and challenges. Each year, associates engage in multiple team projects, contributing to various aspects of assignments rather than focusing on a single task. In your role within our Federal Credits and Incentives (FCI) group, you will undertake responsibilities centered around two primary areas: your technical proficiency and commitment to delivering outstanding client service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support tax planning and research related to the Research and Development (R&D) credit and other federal incentives.
  • Assist in managing multiple projects concurrently, which includes conducting client interviews, performing calculations, analyzing data, and coordinating resources.
  • Contribute to the drafting of opinion letters and the preparation of technical memoranda.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of clients' businesses.
  • Play a vital role in driving the success of various R&D and federal credits projects.
  • Maintain professional competency through ongoing education and by pursuing additional certifications.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Willingness to travel to client locations as required, with access to reliable transportation.
  • A preferred minimum GPA of 3.0.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Actively pursuing the CPA exam.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other computer applications.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Capacity to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
