Job Summary

We are seeking a Tax Senior Associate to join our team at Forvis Mazars. As a Tax Senior Associate, you will provide tax compliance, tax provision, and tax advisory services to pass-through and C-corporation entities with an emphasis on companies operating in the manufacturing and distribution, construction and real estate, professional services and technology, and financial institutions industries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Tax Compliance Services: Assist clients with tax compliance, including preparation of tax returns, audit defense, and tax planning.
  • Supervise and Develop Tax Staff: Supervise and develop professional tax staff, including coaching and mentoring to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to provide high-quality services to clients.
  • Develop and Manage Client Relationships: Help develop and manage client relationships, including identifying new business opportunities and building strong relationships with clients.
  • Provide Timely and Unmatched Client Service: Provide timely and unmatched client service, exceeding client expectations and delivering high-quality results.
  • Represent Forvis Mazars in the Marketplace: Represent Forvis Mazars in the marketplace at networking events, conferences, and other industry events.
  • Participate in Proposal Process: Participate in the proposal process for potential new clients, including developing proposals and presenting to clients.
  • Participate in Campus Recruiting Initiatives: Participate in campus recruiting initiatives and programs, including developing and implementing recruitment strategies.
  • Contribute to Technical Guidance: Contribute to Forvis Mazars-sponsored technical guidance for internal and external publications and to internal learning and development sessions.
  • Work with Team to Assign Projects: Work with your team to assign projects and resolve scheduling conflicts.
Requirements
  • Relevant Experience: Relevant progressive experience in public accounting or a combination of corporate tax and experience in public accounting.
  • Strong Supervisory Skills: Excellent supervisory, team-building, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to Work Well with Team: Ability to work well with a team as well as independently.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Solution-Finding Attitude: A solution-finding attitude and willingness to take initiative.
  • Precise Attention to Detail: Precise attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and against target dates.
  • Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and a minimum of 2 years of relevant progressive tax experience in public accounting or a combination of corporate tax and public accounting experience.
  • CPA License: CPA license or have secured the educational requirements to satisfy the 150-credit hour requirement necessary to obtain a CPA license.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Accounting, Taxation, Law degree, or a related field.
