Job Summary:

This is an entry-level position working under direct supervision to support Principal Investigators, clinical research coordinators, and other senior members of a clinical study team with administrative, regulatory, and data management tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the clinical research team in all aspects of candidate enrollment and subject data management for clinical research trials.
  • Utilize multiple data capture/retrieval systems and interact with various healthcare delivery systems to identify, track, evaluate, collate, analyze, and submit subject data.
  • Collaborate closely with the clinical research team to ensure that key federal, state, and local regulatory requirements are followed, and that institutional operational research objectives are met.
  • Develop, establish, and maintain productive relationships with VCU colleagues, customers, and contacts at affiliate sites to achieve essential research outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and experience in health research and/or a healthcare-related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Independent judgment and critical thinking skills.
  • Discretionary decision-making skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize autonomously.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment and adapt to changing client status, regulations, and work environment.
  • Detail-oriented organizational skills.
  • Highly proficient with multiple computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, spreadsheet management, PDF file creation/use, online database use/maintenance, internet-based research, network, and online file maintenance & management, and custom report generation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology.
  • A demonstrated commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion in past experiences or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.
