Position Overview

As a key member of our technical team, you will report directly to the Director of Technical Operations. This position demands a comprehensive understanding of permanent Audio-Visual integrated systems, adept troubleshooting skills, and a keen interest in emerging technologies. You will work closely with the Engineering and Operations teams to ensure that installations meet project specifications and fulfill the needs of both internal production teams and external clients.

Core Responsibilities

  • Engage with a diverse range of audio-visual and broadcast/film equipment, alongside network systems.
  • Install equipment securely, including racks, wall mounts, and raceways.
  • Execute structured cabling installations, demonstrating strong knowledge of category cable and fiber optic standards.
  • Exhibit proficiency in soldering and crimping various connectors (RJ45, BNC, XLR).
  • Troubleshoot both analog and digital signals effectively.
  • Demonstrate comfort with Serial RS-232 interfaces.
  • Possess a strong understanding of the OSI model.
  • Have a solid grasp of video standards and EDID.
  • Maintain consistent communication regarding job status with Project Managers.
  • Collaborate with third-party representatives to address specific AV requirements.
  • Interpret design schematics and accurately document any changes.
  • Record installation progress through site photography.

Physical and Environmental Considerations

  • Ability to perform tasks involving standing, walking, sitting, and manual dexterity.
  • Occasional handling of equipment weighing up to 50lbs.
  • Adaptability to varying noise levels in the work environment.
  • Willingness to undertake outdoor tasks, with exposure to seasonal temperature variations.
  • Capability to work at heights using ladders or aerial work platforms.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the Audio-Visual sector.
  • Certification in CTS or CTS-I is mandatory.
  • Valid certification for Working at Heights is required.
  • 2-3 years of hands-on experience in installing Video Walls or Commercial Signage.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and personable individual.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask effectively.
  • Composure in high-pressure situations.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting AV schematics.

Additional Considerations

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally on a project basis.
  • Possession of a valid driving license and access to a vehicle for site visits.
  • Valid passport for occasional travel to other locations.

Preferred Certifications

  • Active AVIXA CTS or CTS-I certification.
  • CCNA certification.
  • Working at Heights certification.
  • CompTIA Network+ certification.
  • Crestron DMC-D certification.
  • QSC Designer certification.
  • Biamp Tesiraforte certification.
  • Legrand – IP Networking Basics certification.
