Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Audio Visual Event Specialist to join our UCAN AV Events team in Los Angeles. This role is pivotal in enhancing the productivity of our employees by addressing their technological requirements. The AV Events team is dedicated to crafting unforgettable experiences that engage and motivate our workforce. As our event portfolio expands, we require an adept professional to oversee all aspects of event production, including video, audio, lighting, and communication systems, both on-site and at external venues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee technical setup, configuration, and support for both internal and external event productions.
  • Conduct regular maintenance, diagnostics, and troubleshooting of all technical equipment within event spaces.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies to ensure successful implementation and outcomes.
  • Monitor and resolve issues related to video, cameras, digital switchers, routers, servers, and automation systems.
  • Collaborate on AV research and development initiatives with team members.
  • Maintain up-to-date technical documentation for user reference.
  • Ensure effective communication with internal and external partners.
  • Create and manage comprehensive engineering documentation.
  • Step into operational roles as needed during events.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and pre-production requirements for events.
  • Coordinate AV resources for events, utilizing full-time employees, contractors, or vendors.
  • Oversee technology support for Netflix's on-site event production facilities.
  • Manage the AV budget related to event expenditures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a department lead in audio, lighting, video, or production management for live broadcasts and events.
  • Experience collaborating with research and development teams to create scalable solutions for hybrid events.
  • Proficient in working with vendors and design teams for the setup and maintenance of broadcast event spaces.
  • Ability to manage project budgets effectively throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Experience mentoring team members and sharing knowledge of new skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across diverse teams.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to remain composed under pressure.
  • Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment, collaborating with talent, producers, and directors under tight deadlines.
  • Experience providing technical support in various roles during live events.
  • Capable of post-editing for video on demand deliverables.
  • Proficient in Mac OS, Windows, Chromebooks, and GSuite for Business.

Compensation and Benefits:
Our compensation model is based solely on an annual salary, allowing you to choose the balance between salary and stock options each year. We consider market indicators and your unique skills and experience to determine your compensation within the market range. Our salary range for this role is $100,000 - $700,000.
