Job Title: Senior Material Management Specialist

Fluor is a global leader in the Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Fabrication, and Maintenance industry. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Material Management Specialist to join our team.

Job Summary:

This is a senior-level purchasing project team member position that handles critical project material within established Material Management Plans, policies, and procedures. The successful candidate will have a strong background in material management, procurement, and supply chain coordination.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage entire RFQ life cycle, including bidder selection, RFQ issuance, negotiations, award, post-award, and close-out
  • Negotiate and/or provide assistance in negotiation of large to complex equipment and bulk material packages to obtain best value for the project
  • Review, analyze, and negotiate Terms and Conditions based on Prime Contract flow-downs
  • Implement, manage, and monitor the Material Management Work Process with the approved Corporate Reference Tool for Material Management to meet project requirements and schedule
  • Provide general and direct supervision to the purchasing, expediting, and other support staff as assigned
  • Develop and/or assist in the development of purchasing and/or expediting plans on the project
  • Perform material buying and/or expediting activities in accordance with the corporate Operating System Requirements (OSR) and established project plans
Requirements:
  • Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in an applicable field of study and eight (8) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to twelve (12) years if non-degreed
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
  • Job-related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in EPCM industry with capital projects
  • Experience with Fluor processes, procedures, and systems
  • Experience in dealing with global vendors (outside US)
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English (read, write, and speak)
  • Working toward applicable professional certification(s) or license(s)
  • Experience should be primarily in the area of material management
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent computer literacy and skills
  • Good leadership and decision-making skills
