Fiber Optic Technician

Job OverviewThe Fiber Optic Technician will perform general construction work for underground telecommunications utilities. This role requires extensive travel and overnight stays.
Key Responsibilities- Install and maintain underground fiber optic and other telecommunications cabling service lines.
- Maintain visual and audible contact with other crew members and all moving or stationary objects to ensure safe coordination of movement.
- Restore and/or landscape disturbed areas of the jobsite.
- Dig pits, trenches and potholes as directed by job plan.
- Site set-up and clean-up.
- Load, unload, tie-down & secure tools, materials and equipment.
- Set up safety perimeter using signage, cones and safety barriers.
