We are in search of a dedicated individual to support our preschool class of Twos in their exploration and emotional development.

Georgetown Hill Early School has been a non-profit institution dedicated to serving the educational needs of Maryland families since 1980. Our mission is to collaborate with educators, children, and their families to create an exceptional early childhood learning experience.

We are looking for Lead Teachers to enhance our Twos preschool daycare programs across various campuses:

  • Apple Ridge/Montgomery Village - Catering to upper Montgomery County, Gaithersburg, and Goshen regions
  • Bells Mill/Potomac - Situated in Potomac, close to local elementary schools
  • Greenwood/Hyattsville - Conveniently located near public transportation
  • Potomac Village - Centrally located with easy access to public transport

Positions may be available on a full-time or part-time basis. Your primary responsibility will be to address the unique needs of our students while promoting independence in a nurturing and supportive environment.

The starting pay for this role is a minimum of $22/hr, contingent upon the necessary qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Address the educational needs and interests of preschool children through a creative and age-appropriate curriculum
  • Oversee preschool children to ensure their health, safety, and well-being
  • Support the physical, social-emotional, and developmental needs of each child in the classroom
  • Exhibit effective leadership within the classroom team
  • Communicate effectively and maintain positive relationships with children, families, colleagues, and the community
  • Manage the classroom to create a consistent, safe, and positive learning atmosphere for all students and staff

The educational and certification requirements for the Lead Teacher position in our Twos preschool program include a minimum of the MSDE 90hr Preschool Certification or a CDA with the Preschool Endorsement.

Our ideal candidate will possess 1-3 years of relevant experience along with the following qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of child development principles and instructional strategies
  • Knowledge of MSDE regulations
  • A warm, friendly, and composed demeanor
  • Proficient technological skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Consistent reliability in attendance and punctuality
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • A collaborative spirit and willingness to work with others

In accordance with Maryland State Department of Education Office of Child Care regulations, all applicants must successfully pass a state and federal background check as a condition of employment.
