Key Responsibilities

HDR is looking for a Transportation/Civil Project Manager to oversee the design, development, and management of projects. This role offers flexibility for a hybrid work environment, allowing for a blend of remote and in-office work. The successful candidate will be involved in planning, directing, and designing multi-disciplinary highway or civil engineering projects. As a member of both the Highway/Roadway and Water Resources teams, you will have the chance to contribute to a variety of local and national projects based on workload and opportunities.

The Project Manager will lead the efforts of team members in completing necessary studies, documentation, and reports. Experience in agency coordination, planning, and working with diverse teams is essential. Additionally, you will assist in proposal preparation and lead the development and execution of project scopes upon selection. Your role will include coordinating project staffing and managing workloads for a team of engineers and designers.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in transportation and civil design
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Understanding of public agency operations
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • A passion for mentoring and training team members
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and a positive demeanor
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in engineering and project management for public agencies and local governments
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and personnel effectively
  • Strong business development skills with a track record of securing projects as a project manager or task lead
  • Ability to build strong client relationships
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Familiarity with local transportation agencies and regulations
