Key Responsibilities
HDR is in search of a Transportation/Civil Project Manager to oversee, design, and manage projects in the MN region. This role offers flexibility for a hybrid work arrangement, balancing remote and office environments. The selected candidate will plan, direct, and design multi-disciplinary highway or civil engineering projects. As a member of both the Highway/Roadway and Water Resources teams, this individual will engage in a variety of local and national projects based on workload and opportunities. The Project Manager will guide the efforts of others in completing necessary studies, documentation, and reports. Extensive experience in agency coordination, planning, programming, and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams is essential. Additionally, this role may involve supporting proposal preparation and leading scope development and execution upon selection. Candidates should possess experience working across various disciplines and project types, and will be responsible for coordinating project staffing and managing workload for a team of engineers and designers.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline
- 7 years of relevant experience in transportation and civil design
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Familiarity with public agency operations
- Exceptional analytical and communication skills
- Strong commitment to mentoring and training staff
- Leadership abilities and a positive demeanor
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Relevant engineering experience in project management for agencies and local governments
- Demonstrated capability to manage multiple projects and personnel
- Strong business development skills with a history of securing projects as the proposed project manager or task lead
- Ability to establish strong client relationships
- Effective presentation skills
- Familiarity with MnDOT, counties, and watershed districts
