Position Overview:

The Banquet Server plays a crucial role in the execution of exceptional banquet services. This includes the preparation and dismantling of event spaces, managing coffee breaks, receptions, buffets, and plated dining experiences, as well as serving food and beverages during various events. The Banquet Server is essential in crafting memorable experiences for guests by anticipating their needs and exceeding their expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all menu items to provide accurate information to guests.
  • Prepare and dismantle banquet setups efficiently.
  • Manage the setup, replenishment, and breakdown of coffee breaks, receptions, buffets, and plated services.
  • Ensure adherence to the sequence of service for all guests.
  • Serve beverages, including coffee, tea, cocktails, and wine, with professionalism.
  • Deliver plated meals and passed hors d'oeuvres with attention to detail.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction throughout events and accommodate special requests when feasible.
  • Maintain cleanliness by clearing tables of finished items and managing waste.
  • Compile consumption reports as required.
  • Prepare and arrange china, glassware, silverware, and service items.
  • Manage linen stock and ensure cleanliness.
  • Set up and maintain beverage stations, ensuring they are well-stocked.
  • Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Verify that all tables are properly set before food delivery.
  • Ensure accuracy and presentation of all orders before serving.
  • Foster positive communication with all team members.
  • Recognize and appreciate the contributions of co-workers and supervisors.
  • Engage in meetings to stay informed about new programs, products, and opportunities.
  • Promote a safe and healthy work environment for all.
  • Provide guests with information about property services and amenities.
  • Assist guests in navigating the property as needed.
  • Address guest complaints following established procedures.
  • Encourage a collaborative atmosphere among team members.
  • Participate in regular team meetings to discuss service quality.
  • Exhibit a friendly demeanor and warm greetings to all guests.

  • Proactively offer assistance throughout the venue.

  • Engage in sustainability initiatives.
  • Perform duties in alignment with company policies and regulations.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by management.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors to ensure standards are met.
  • Coordinate with other departments as necessary.
  • Present a professional image to all stakeholders.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding guest and company information.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred secondary school education or equivalent experience in service for a minimum of two years.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken forms.
  • Capability to read and understand simple instructions and correspondence.
  • Basic numerical skills for counting and calculations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to manage diverse customer interactions.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.

Additional Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of casino/hotel operations and premium dining services.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience in casino food and beverage services is preferred.
  • Understanding of table service protocols and etiquette.
  • Possession of a valid Food Handlers Card, Liquor License, and IGC Badge is mandatory.

Physical Abilities:

  • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, and bend for extended periods.
  • Capability to perform repetitive movements with hands and arms.
  • Effective verbal communication and auditory perception skills.
  • Visual acuity for detail-oriented tasks.
  • Manual dexterity and coordination for tasks above shoulder height.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Flexibility to perform rotational movements.
  • Tolerance for varying environmental conditions, including heat and noise.
