Job Overview

Position Summary:

The individual in this role is tasked with ensuring the cleanliness and orderliness of banquet facilities, corridors, storage, and service zones. Regularly inventory and maintain banquet supplies such as linens, chairs, china, glassware, flatware, and decorations. Prepare the banquet area according to the specifications outlined in the event order, and restore the area to its original condition post-event. During events, responsibilities include assisting servers, moving tables and equipment, managing audio-visual tools, reporting maintenance concerns to management, and providing information to event attendees.

  • Foster an environment that encourages guests to choose Hard Rock for their entertainment; responsible for actively cultivating and maintaining guest relations while mentoring team members to deliver exceptional service.
  • Welcome guests in a friendly and inviting manner.
  • Set up and dismantle meeting spaces according to event specifications while upholding cleanliness standards for equipment and meeting areas.
  • Assemble and arrange conference equipment in meeting spaces as per event requirements.
  • Prepare rooms for use by adjusting lighting, sound levels, and temperature as necessary before guests arrive.
  • Ensure the proper use, storage, and upkeep of all audio-visual and meeting room equipment.
  • Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness in all areas of the event space, back of house, hospitality suites, and designated banquet or entertainment venues.
  • Communicate any needs, issues, and concerns from guests to supervisors.
  • Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing work and public areas.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • One or more years of experience in banquet services within a high-volume, upscale hotel environment and strong oral and written communication skills.
  • High School diploma or GED.

Additional Requirements:

  • Comprehensive understanding of lifestyle casino/hotels and premium dining products and services.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Experience in casino food and beverage preferred.
  • Knowledge of table service procedures and etiquette.
  • Must possess a valid Food Handlers Card, Liquor License, and IGC Badge while on duty.

Knowledge of:

  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the primary languages used in the workplace.
  • Utilize judgment and reasoning to handle emergencies such as sudden illness, accidents, or service interruptions.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of various banquet and food service techniques and standards.
  • Food, beverage, and wine service.
  • Excellent customer service skills.

Ability to:

  • Move throughout the business (standing, walking, kneeling, bending) for extended periods.
  • Perform repetitive movements of the arms, hands, and wrists.
