Overview:
This role is tasked with delivering oversight of credit risk for consumer credit portfolios.
The responsibilities encompass monitoring the credit quality of designated portfolios to ensure adherence to established risk parameters, ensuring compliance with regulatory and credit policies, and supporting key initiatives associated with the assigned portfolios.
The position emphasizes data and analytics to track KPIs and KRIs relevant to the portfolio, conducting in-depth analyses as necessary, and raising awareness of significant risks associated with the portfolio.
This role will assist the Head of Consumer and Residential Credit Risk in managing the overall credit risk of the portfolios in alignment with the organization's risk appetite.
Additionally, the position will be responsible for evaluating and affirming or declining credit requests from assigned lending units that exceed their signing authority.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and review essential risk reports to monitor portfolio quality.
- Highlight concerns to relevant committees and stakeholders.
- Develop action plans to address any outstanding issues and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve them.
- Review the completeness, accuracy, and utility of established credit policies and procedures related to assigned portfolios. Recommend changes to Credit Policy and procedures for approval by the appropriate management committee.
- Oversee the implementation of changes following updates to Credit Policy in first line of defense procedures and processes where applicable.
- Participate in and support credit reviews, ensuring corrective actions are taken to address exceptions and prevent recurrence.
- Design and implement monitoring frameworks to evaluate the performance of new product launches.- Provide support to ensure compliance and consistent execution with all applicable laws, regulations, and administrative duties.
- Fully comply with all bank risk management, operational, and credit policies and procedures, as well as all regulatory requirements (e.g., Bank Secrecy Act, Know Your Client, Community Reinvestment Act, Fair Lending Practices, City National Code of Conduct, etc.)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in banking, preferably in Consumer and Small Business Banking
- 5+ years in first line of defense or second line of defense roles in Credit Risk
- Strong understanding of regulatory guidance related to consumer and small business products.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and reporting tools such as Tableau.
