Position Overview

AECOM is currently seeking a Commissioning Engineer to oversee commissioning processes for new construction and retro-commissioning projects. This role is essential in ensuring that all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems function as intended. The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Construction Engineering, or Architecture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement project-specific commissioning requirements in accordance with project specifications.
  • Coordinate and execute activities across various project phases, including design, construction, testing, and final reporting.
  • Establish and communicate project scope, work plans, and schedules to relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to budgetary constraints and project timelines.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of construction documents and participate in project coordination meetings.
  • Prepare and distribute meeting minutes and maintain documentation of commissioning activities.
  • Review shop drawings and equipment submittals for compliance with project standards.
  • Create Pre-functional Construction Checklists and Functional Test Procedures.
  • Perform on-site observations during construction and installation phases.
  • Assist in training facility operators on building systems and their functionalities.
  • Oversee and report on testing procedures, including hydrostatic and duct air leakage tests.
  • Provide detailed daily reports on construction observations as required.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Engineering, or Architecture.
  • Strong technical reading and writing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Background in construction practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience leading meetings and discussions effectively.
