Position Overview

The Building Automation Systems Technician plays a crucial role in executing service requests while fostering strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance and urgent service requests on current Building Management Systems (BMS).
  • Diagnose system installations and rectify issues independently.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to assess service requirements, manage scheduling, and ensure exceptional customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee client facilities to guarantee optimal operational standards are met. Adjust systems as new protocols and sequences are introduced.
  • Recognize potential for further building improvements and carry out upgrades or minor retrofits on existing systems.
  • Execute building assessments and collaborate with the Service Manager to estimate additional tasks.
  • Perform necessary software programming, equipment initiation, tuning, calibration, and commissioning of Building Automation Systems.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the following equipment: Variable Air Volume (VAV) systems, Exhaust Fans, Unit Ventilators, Air Handling Units (AHUs), Hot Water Systems, Chilled Water Systems, and Lighting Controls.
  • Stay updated on industry advancements related to energy efficiency strategies.
  • Provide constructive feedback to supervisors on improving the installation process.
  • Utilize the Automated Logic Dealer portal and remain informed on technical data and solutions for existing challenges and updates.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as required and approved by management.

Required Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience in the HVAC controls sector, including DDC Systems commissioning, software integration, calibration, and pneumatic controls experience.
  • Familiarity with Automated Logic commissioning tools and field circuit troubleshooting skills.
  • Comprehension of the construction sector with a focus on mechanical and electrical disciplines.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, WebCTRL, AutoCAD, and various operating systems.
  • Demonstrated history of successfully completing projects, being self-driven, and achieving client satisfaction.
  • Deploy, modify, verify, and commission building automation, DDC, energy management, and control systems hardware, software, and graphics.
  • Field Supervisor roles are also available for candidates with over 3-4 years of experience, capable of overseeing subcontractors.

Compensation Range: 60K to 110K based on experience.
