Position Overview
The Building Automation Systems Technician plays a crucial role in delivering service excellence while fostering strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance and urgent service interventions on existing Building Management Systems (BMS).
- Diagnose system installations and rectify issues independently.
- Engage effectively with clients to assess service requirements, manage scheduling, and uphold high customer satisfaction levels.
- Oversee client facilities to ensure optimal operational standards are met, adjusting systems as new protocols and sequences are introduced.
- Spot opportunities for system enhancements and execute upgrades or minor retrofits on current setups.
- Carry out facility assessments and collaborate with the Service Manager on project estimations.
- Perform essential software programming, equipment initiation, calibration, and commissioning of Building Automation Systems.
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of equipment including Variable Air Volume (VAV) systems, exhaust fans, unit ventilators, air handling units (AHUs), hot water systems, chiller water systems, and lighting controls.
- Stay updated on industry advancements related to energy efficiency strategies.
- Provide constructive feedback to management on improving installation methodologies.
- Utilize Automated Logic's Dealer platform to remain informed on technical resources and solutions for existing challenges and updates.
- Take on additional duties as required and authorized by management.
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience in the HVAC controls sector, including DDC systems commissioning, software integration, calibration, and pneumatic controls.
- Familiarity with Automated Logic commissioning tools and field circuit troubleshooting skills.
- Understanding of the construction sector, particularly in mechanical and electrical disciplines.
- Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.
- Strong skills in communication, organization, and documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, WebCTRL, AutoCAD, and various operating systems.
- Demonstrated success in completing projects, self-motivation, and achieving client satisfaction.
- Deploy, modify, verify, and commission building automation, DDC, energy management, and control systems hardware, software, and graphics.
- Field Supervisor roles are available for candidates with over 3-4 years of experience and the capability to oversee subcontractors.
