Job Title: Instructor Special Assignment, Construction Program Coordinator

Los Angeles Community College District is seeking a qualified candidate for the Instructor Special Assignment (ISA) position to coordinate and support the Noncredit Construction-Programs.

Job Summary:

The selected candidate will report directly to the Dean of Adult and Continuing Education and will be responsible for assisting with outreach activities, communicating with partners and staff, and overseeing the ordering of materials, maintaining equipment and inventory.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in outreach and program recruiting activities.
  • Assist with student information sessions and orientations.
  • Attend meetings with community partners and college staff.
  • Maintain basic hand and power tool equipment.
  • Schedule maintenance on machinery.
  • Order materials and coordinate delivery.
  • Develop and maintain inventory.
  • Complete facilities work orders.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • A degree from an accredited college or university that allows the individual to teach any discipline offered at LASC.
  • Professional or occupational experience must be directly related to the instructional assignment.
  • Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
  • ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT COVID 19 VACCINATION: Pursuant to LACCD Board of Trustee's Policy 2900, all students and employees must be fully vaccinated or have an approved exemption.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • MC3 (Multi-Craft Core Curriculum) certified.
  • Bachelor's degree; and two years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught.
  • Associate degree; and six years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught.
  • Possession of a full-time, clear California Designated Subjects Adult Education Teaching Credential authorizing instruction in the subject matter.
