Trauma Coordinator Job Description

The Trauma Coordinator at MountainView Regional Medical Center is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive trauma care system that ensures high-quality patient care and outcomes.

This role requires a self-directed and self-motivated individual who can work independently and collaboratively with the trauma program medical director and other healthcare team members.

The Trauma Coordinator will provide specialized nursing knowledge and expertise as a clinician, educator, researcher, and consultant to nursing staff, patients, and their families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement trauma care policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with the trauma program medical director to ensure high-quality patient care
  • Provide education and training to nursing staff on trauma care
  • Conduct research and analysis to improve trauma care outcomes
  • Consult with nursing staff and patients on trauma care
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing (RN)
  • Three (3) years of clinical/acute care experience
  • Experience in trauma, emergency, and/or critical care
  • Two (2) years leadership experience
  • Experience in coordination, education, and clinical program development
Licenses/Certificates:
  • Current licensure in professional nursing from the New Mexico State Board of Nursing or compact RN license
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • Current TNCC (Trauma Core Nursing Curriculum)
