POSITION SUMMARY

As a Senior Audit Associate, your primary responsibility will be to coordinate and execute fieldwork on audit projects while planning, directing, and completing the audit assignments.

You will also be tasked with training Assurance Staff in the field, delegating responsibilities, establishing time budgets, and supervising the Assurance team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of professional standards and regulatory obligations.
  • Apply all relevant areas of GAAP and GAAS, conducting research on technical issues that arise during audit engagements to reach sound conclusions.
  • Prepare thorough and accurate work paper documentation with minimal management intervention, including validating and testing substantive support and conducting analytical reviews of account balances.
  • Oversee staff during pre-audit planning and fieldwork for engagements, including risk assessment, preparation of audit programs, and evaluation of internal controls and operational procedures.
  • Manage client relationships and assigned Assurance Staff to meet deadlines within budgeted timeframes.
  • Prepare all necessary financial statements and related disclosures, ensuring quality, thoroughness, and accuracy.
  • Deliver timely, high-quality client service that meets or exceeds expectations.
  • Develop a solid understanding of the client's business operations.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with staff, superiors, and clients, serving as the first point of contact for basic client inquiries.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments and ensure professional growth through ongoing education, providing formal and informal training to Assurance department personnel.
  • Anticipate and address client concerns, escalating issues to Managers and Partners as necessary.
  • Participate in overseeing staff and managing reviews, compilations, and agreed-upon procedure engagements.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is required.
  • 2-5 years of experience in a public accounting environment.
  • Strong understanding of audit services with knowledge of FASB regulations, GAAS, and GAAP.
  • CPA certification is preferred or demonstrated progress toward obtaining certification.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis upon hire.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, especially Excel).
  • Experience with QuickBooks and ProSystems is a plus.
  • High level of interpersonal skills with demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of clearly conveying issues to all management levels.
  • Ability to multitask while working independently and coordinating priorities with senior team members.
  • Capable of thriving in a demanding, deadline-driven environment with a focus on detail and accuracy.
  • Positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
  • Willingness to travel to client locations, including occasional overnight stays.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Outstanding organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Highly motivated and proactive in pursuing professional growth and development, building relationships with existing clients, and engaging in networking and business development activities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
