Job Purpose

The Senior Auditor of Warranty Expense Control is primarily responsible for leading the team in the daily oversight of unusual warranty expense patterns and conducting dealer audits. This role involves managing both dealer self-audits and field audits for Honda and Acura. The position also includes training and developing staff to ensure all audits are performed ethically and professionally. Collaboration with Zone Managers, Assistant Zone Managers, and District Managers is essential to evaluate warranty practices at dealerships, address irregular claims, and implement measures to enhance the accuracy and integrity of future claim submissions.

Supervision of a team comprising 2 members (1 Internal Auditor and 1 Analyst) is required to plan, coordinate, and execute both in-house and field audits. A thorough review of dealership warranty expense trends must be conducted, and necessary debits fulfilled in consultation with Zone Management.

Additionally, the role includes administering the Archiving Certification Program (EAC) to enhance audit efficiency while maintaining the integrity of dealership warranty record management. Participation in defining business rules for warranty system enhancements, including NCS, NWS2, OUS, and warranty audit databases, is also a key responsibility. Ensuring the rejection of inappropriate claims during the validation process is crucial to improving overall dealer claim accuracy and minimizing debits during audit reviews.

Key Accountabilities
  • Oversee the planning, coordination, and completion of both dealership self-audits and on-site National audits.
  • Engage in special projects, including Remote National Audits.
  • Mentor and develop staff.
  • Provide field training and support.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
  • BA in business preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with AHM Service Operations.
  • Strong comprehension of dealership financial statements, audit processes, and warranty procedures.
  • Preferred automotive field experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to analyze data and manage complex databases.
  • Capability to review financial statements and warranty claims.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to supervise and develop staff, fostering teamwork within the department and division.
  • Ability to respond to inquiries from dealerships, field associates, managers, and executive management.
