About the Role:

The Gene Therapy Program at the University of Pennsylvania is seeking a skilled Contracts Manager to partner with our Executive Director of Legal Affairs and manage the contracts process within the program. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for drafting, evaluating, modifying, and negotiating high-quality domestic and international contracts in line with UPenn, local, state, federal, and international policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, modify, and negotiate contracts, including Confidential Disclosure Agreements, Material Transfer Agreements, Sponsored Research Agreements, and Consulting Agreements.
  • Work with scientists and leadership to gather scientific data for inclusion in agreements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a contracts tracking system to ensure timely execution of contracts.
  • Support various legal projects as directed by the Executive Director of Legal Affairs and recommend process improvements as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in life science with at least 3 to 5+ years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Strong background in contract management, with some familiarity with pre-clinical or clinical research & development.
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Highly functioning, detail-oriented, and analytical candidate with a track record of success in roles requiring execution of multiple tasks while responding to multiple priorities.
