Job Overview

A meticulous, organized, and driven professional is sought to oversee and manage ongoing research laboratory initiatives focused on Latino and immigrant health. The Research Lab Coordinator will support Dr. Ana Martinez-Donate within the Community Health & Prevention Department at the Dornsife School of Public Health. As part of a multidisciplinary team, the Research Lab Coordinator will be tasked with aiding in the creation of intervention strategies and data collection tools; managing project execution; supervising data collection and management activities across various projects; performing data analysis using both quantitative and qualitative software; overseeing project team members and priorities; managing project contracts and invoicing; monitoring budget and procurement related to projects; developing and maintaining Institutional Review Board (IRB) protocols; maintaining communication with stakeholders, partners, and sub-award recipients; and facilitating grant and evaluation-related reporting to funding bodies.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise a research team of project staff and students while composing and tracking IRB protocols. Assist in the design of qualitative and quantitative data collection instruments and support data collection, management, and analysis. Program complex surveys using Qualtrics and RedCap. Monitor survey data quality in real-time and provide feedback and training to field staff to minimize survey administration errors. Coordinate and facilitate data sharing with project investigators. Lead initiatives to enhance efficiency, collaboration, and maintain a positive environment in the research lab. Assist in planning and implementing interventions. Contribute to annual and final reports for grant funders. Establish and maintain regular communication with community partners and stakeholders. Oversee budget, procurement, contracts, and invoicing related to projects. Aid in training project staff and students, and develop training materials. Contribute to the development and submission of proposals and manuscripts. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

A master's degree in Public Health (or a related field) or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. A minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience is required. Proficiency in data management and analytical skills is essential. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required. Expertise in Microsoft Office and SAS/SPSS/Stata is necessary. Fluency in Spanish is required. Experience in research projects focusing on Latino immigrant health is preferred. The candidate must possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, be proactive, and be comfortable working both collaboratively and independently, depending on the task.

Preferred Qualifications

Excellent project and time management skills are expected. A successful applicant should also have a solid understanding of both quantitative and qualitative public health research methodologies.

Additional Information

This position is classified as exempt, grade J. Compensation for this grade ranges from minimum to maximum based on qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
