Job Title: Construction Assistant Project Manager

Keller Brothers, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Construction Assistant Project Manager to join our team. As a key member of our construction management team, you will assist the Project Manager with planning, directing, and coordinating daily construction management activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Project Manager in ensuring timely processing and execution of project reporting, including request for information logs, submittal logs, task tracking logs, change management logs, progress reports, meeting minutes, and other project-specific documentation tracking tools.
  • Prepare technical proposals and presentations, contract packages, budgets, research, correspondence, meeting minutes, reports, change orders, closeout documents, invoices, and billings as necessary.
  • Prepare bi-weekly owner's progress meeting project status reports.
  • Participate in weekly trade/subcontractor coordination meetings as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with contract documents, project schedules, and specifications.
  • Resolve scope of work disputes and track field time relative to change management.
  • Stay up-to-date on project status and be prepared to answer questions with confidence.
  • Assist in ensuring duties assigned to others are completed and examined for exactness, neatness, and conformance to company policies and procedures.
  • Review and update work activity reports provided by the superintendent regarding work activities that should have occurred but did not occur and/or work activities that should have started but did not start.
  • Aid in business development and client relations by maintaining a clean, safe, and organized project site.
  • Review project budget and timeframe with the Project Manager and ensure a good understanding.
  • Provide input on new and innovative ways to approach company needs.
  • Understand client needs and achieve an acceptable level of satisfaction.
  • Study and present standardization ideas to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provide financial assistance as directed by the Project Manager.
Requirements:
  • At least 2+ years' experience assisting with commercial construction projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Experience using project management software.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the material submittal process, RFPs, and RFI's.
  • Prior knowledge of industry practices, processes, and standards; knowledge of applicable building codes, zoning ordinances, OSHA requirements, and other legal restrictions.
  • Prior experience building relationships and collaborating within a team, internally and externally, preferred.
