Job Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care for patients in an ambulatory setting.
  • Assist in developing and directing the Internal Medicine residency program, ensuring excellence in education and training.
  • Maintain an educational environment that fosters resident growth and development, meeting ACGME competency area standards.
  • Participate in organized clinical discussions, rounds, journal clubs, and conferences to advance medical knowledge and skills.
  • Serve as role models and mentors for residents, promoting professionalism and excellence.
  • Engage in scholarly activity and quality improvement projects with residents, driving innovation and best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Candidates must hold current certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine or Family Medicine and be eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Texas. Proficiency in teaching and precepting residents, experience in graduate medical education, and skills in research or quality improvement focused on ambulatory care and hospital settings are highly desirable.
