At Texas Children's Hospital, we are seeking a skilled Ambulatory Care Nursing Specialist to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate nurse to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Job Summary

The Ambulatory Care Nursing Specialist will be responsible for providing direct and telephone nursing care, health teaching, patient advocacy, supervision, and coordination of care given by others. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in nursing or a related field, with at least 1 year of professional nursing experience. EPIC experience is highly preferred.

This role requires the ability to prioritize interventions and implement plans of care in partnership with patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals. The successful candidate will also demonstrate patient advocacy as evidenced in response to patient care issues and collaboration with the healthcare team.

Responsibilities
  • Provides direct and telephone nursing care to patients, including health teaching and patient advocacy.
  • Supervises and coordinates care given by others, prioritizing interventions and implementing plans of care in partnership with patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Demonstrates patient advocacy as evidenced in response to patient care issues and collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Participates in ongoing reassessment data to revise diagnoses, expected outcomes, and implementation of the plan as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in nursing or related field.
  • At least 1 year of professional nursing experience.
  • EPIC experience highly preferred.
  • Current licensure with the Board of Nursing for the State of Texas or Nurse Licensure Compact.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
