At Texas Children's Hospital, we are searching for a dedicated Nursing Specialist - Ambulatory Care to join our team. This role is perfect for a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) who wants to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our patients and families.
About the RoleWe are committed to providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced setting. As a Nursing Specialist - Ambulatory Care, you will be responsible for providing direct and telephone nursing care, health teaching, patient advocacy, supervision, and coordination of care given by others. You will also be involved in the coordination of services required for patients outside the ambulatory care setting.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of patients and families, and develop your skills in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. You will also have the chance to collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
Responsibilities- Provide evidence-based assessment, complex interviewing techniques, and instruments related to ambulatory care nursing to collect pertinent patient, family, or population-specific data.
- Develop and continuously update an individualized plan for patients seeking care for health promotion, health malignance, or health-related situational problems.
- Prioritize interventions and implement the plan of care in partnership with the patient, family, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals in a timely manner.
- Conduct reevaluation and follow-up of care delivered based on the patient's needs, the patient's condition, or the patient's request.
- Ensure the patient's families' and caregivers' ability to understand and participate in the plan of care.
- Use ongoing reassessment data to revise the diagnoses, expected outcomes, and implementation of the plan as needed.
- Demonstrate patient advocacy as evidenced in response to patient care issues and collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing, or Associates Degree in nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement, or Technical diploma in nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement, or Must be currently enrolled in a nursing bridge program working toward an MSN.
- Verified BSN-equivalency or a signed agreement is required.
- Current licensure with the Board of Nursing for the State of Texas or Nurse Licensure Compact.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
- 1 year of professional nursing experience.
- EPIC experience highly preferred.
The salary for this role is $75,000 - $95,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
