Role Overview
As a Hardware Design Engineer, you will take charge of the design, development, and validation of next-generation Haptic Technologies. Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing the haptics subsystem, focusing on its architecture, component selection, and schematic design for boards and flexible assemblies.
- Conducting validation and characterization of the module, assessing performance and signal/power integrity.
- Defining test requirements and leading failure analysis at both module and system levels.
- Collaborating on proof of concept investigations for new sensing and actuator technologies, weighing their advantages and disadvantages in relation to user experience requirements.
All tasks will be executed in a multi-disciplinary environment, necessitating effective interaction and communication with key team members, including industrial design, software, firmware, mechanical engineers, and operations.
Essential Qualifications
- Strong background in Electrical Engineering, circuit design, signal processing, and electromagnetism.
- Solid understanding of sensors and their associated signal chains.
- Fundamental knowledge and experience in physics and mechanical engineering.
- Familiarity with basic statistical principles.
- Proficiency in simulation and modeling tools such as MATLAB, SPICE, or Simulink.
- Experience in modeling electro-mechanical systems.
- A collaborative mindset, thriving in a team-oriented environment.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Education & Experience
A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required.
At Apple, base compensation is one component of our comprehensive compensation package and is determined within a specified range. This allows for growth and development within the role. The base pay range for this position is between $58.61 and $88.29/hr, influenced by your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
