Electrical Engineer for Human-Computer Interaction Hardware

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our Input Devices group at Apple. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing the next generation of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) hardware, including mice, trackpads, keyboards, and remotes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop high-volume electrical systems for HCI devices, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Apply state-of-the-art sensing and haptic technologies to create innovative human interface devices.
  • Author detailed engineering requirements specifications and manage PCB layout design.
  • Work with suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure high-quality products.
  • Interface with cross-functional leaders for project reviews and discussions.
Requirements
  • Working knowledge of board/system level electrical designs with micro-controllers.
  • Hands-on experience in prototype design, bring-up, debugging, characterization, and functional verification.
  • Working knowledge of system-level design and common interfaces (I2C, SPI, JTAG, USB).
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Successful track record of working closely with mechanical engineers and firmware teams.
  • Experience in DC-DC converter design and application (buck and boost).
  • Experience in sensor selection and integration at system level.
  • Experience in designing high-volume, high-quality consumer electronic products.
  • Experience in data analysis and scripting languages.
