About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Battery Engineering group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative battery management systems that deliver high-performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop battery monitoring units and battery management units (BMU) for next-generation consumer electronic products
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product development meets performance targets and is delivered on time and on budget
  • Conduct investigations and prepare reports for problems or issues
  • Develop schematics and BOMs to satisfy design requirements
  • Develop layout guidelines for PCBs and guide layout engineers to meet all physical and electrical requirements of BMU
  • Specify custom parts and PCBs for use in BMUs
  • Analyze designs with simulation tools and calculations to verify conformance to requirements
  • Conduct design validation on prototypes to implement designs
  • Conduct design reviews, incorporate team feedback, and release design documents for builds
  • Specify production test methods and limits and work with CM partners to realize designs
Requirements
  • BS + 3 years of relevant industry experience
  • Experience in analog and/or power electronics design
  • Schematic capture and PCB layout design for mixed-signal boards (Cadence, Altium, Eagle, etc.)
  • Design validation of new silicon and prototype bring-up
  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
  • Strong EE fundamentals in electronic circuit design/development with microcontroller-based embedded systems
  • Good knowledge of inter-module communications protocols (I2C, SMBus, SPMI, etc.)
  • Experience with high-volume manufacturing
  • Knowledge of scripting (Python, Shell, Unix, MATLAB, etc.) for test automation and data analysis desired
  • Self-starter with excellent time management skills and curious spirit
  • Strong documentation and communication skills
  • Proven track record working independently under high pressure and comfortable working in a dynamic environment
