Job Summary

The Assistant Branch Manager plays a vital role in guiding and managing a retail branch, ensuring exceptional service to members in account transactions, loan applications, and new accounts. This position requires proficient and service-oriented problem-solving skills within established policies and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Retail Branch Manager in managing branch staff and overseeing day-to-day operations.
  • Lead and advise Member Advisors in handling member needs and accurate transactional processes.
  • Facilitate ongoing coaching for Member Advisors to achieve operating standard goals.
  • Ensure compliance with credit union policies and procedures related to the Bank Secrecy Act and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).
  • Assume responsibility for guiding, coaching, training, and monitoring branch staff to achieve high performance.
  • Lead, supervise, coach, mentor, and train Member Advisors.
  • Assist the Retail Branch Manager in meeting branch credit life, disability, GAP, warranty, credit card, checking, consumer loans, business loans, and mortgage goals.
  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure the branch meets all objectives outlined in monthly goals.
  • Ensure staff have training and mentoring to recognize in-branch cross-sales opportunities, develop relationships, and generate additional business through onboarding and reboarding outbound calls.
  • Conduct formal coaching sessions with staff monthly and provide coaching as needed.
  • Ensure the branch is compliant with all governing regulations, especially the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), OFAC, and the Patriot Act requirements.
  • Understand and comply with all state and federal regulations and laws, and monitor staff compliance.
  • Act as the Vault teller, ordering currency, verifying currency received, maintaining vault security, and balancing vault cash daily.
  • Control expenses such as overtime, supplies, and branch cash requirements.
  • Ensure the branch and grounds are properly maintained.
  • Responsible for security in the branch.
  • Understand the complete operation of all security equipment and ensure the security system is tested monthly.
  • Hold a quarterly security meeting with staff.
  • Ensure the branch facility, branch equipment, and software are up to date and ready to serve members.
  • Schedule adequate staff to ensure efficient branch operation.
  • Ensure an adequate supply of currency, cashier checks, and debit cards in the branch.
  • Complete reports, records, and other documentation as required.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma
  • 1 to 3 years of Financial Services Industry Experience
  • SAFE Act Compliance
