Overview: The role of research is crucial in shaping the messaging and strategic direction of campaigns. Position Summary: As a Senior Research Manager, you will be instrumental in guiding the department's initiatives, crafting and implementing research strategies, and supervising a substantial team of researchers. We seek candidates with extensive experience in political research and a proven track record in managing research processes and teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise a team of researchers tasked with executing detailed research strategies on various candidates;
  • Collaborate with department leadership to develop thorough research plans for multiple candidates;
  • Provide concise documents to rapid response and communications teams for public-facing content creation;
  • Assist junior staff in editing and enhancing research outputs;
  • Lead initiatives to generate ideas for public records requests or investigative projects, and analyze the resulting data;
  • Perform additional duties as required to support the department's objectives.
Essential Skills:
  • Proficient in utilizing common research tools and resources, including public records requests, campaign finance reports, and legal documentation;
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail;
  • Strong organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of three cycles of experience in political research, including at least one cycle in a leadership capacity or managing significant research projects;
  • In-depth knowledge of political dynamics and campaign strategies;
  • Considerable experience in training junior staff on research tools and methodologies;
  • Ability to manage long-term projects effectively and delegate tasks to meet tight deadlines;
  • Willingness to engage actively with the fast-paced news cycle;
  • Innovative thinking and a desire to explore new research avenues.
