Position Overview:

We are in search of a seasoned Accounts Receivable Manager with specialized knowledge in the cannabis field to become a vital part of our finance department. The ideal candidate will be based in a location suitable for hybrid work, balancing remote responsibilities with office engagement. Your role will involve overseeing the accounts receivable operations, ensuring prompt payments, nurturing client relationships, and enhancing cash flow management. Your expertise in the cannabis industry will be instrumental in optimizing processes, mitigating risks, and supporting our clients in this rapidly evolving market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the complete accounts receivable (AR) cycle, ensuring precise and timely invoicing and collections.
  • Collaborate closely with clients in the cannabis sector to foster positive relationships and guarantee prompt payment of outstanding invoices.
  • Review AR aging reports, identify overdue accounts, and initiate collection efforts while complying with industry regulations.
  • Formulate and execute strategies to enhance AR processes, decrease DSO (Days Sales Outstanding), and improve cash flow management.
  • Work alongside the finance team to reconcile AR accounts, address discrepancies, and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Evaluate and track AR performance metrics, presenting insights and recommendations to management.
  • Stay informed about cannabis industry regulations and ensure AR processes adhere to relevant laws and financial guidelines.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting related to accounts receivable.
  • Lead a small team of AR specialists, providing guidance, mentorship, and support as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Location Requirement: Candidates must be based in a suitable area for hybrid work (office and remote).
  • Cannabis Industry Experience: 3+ years of experience in the cannabis sector with a focus on accounts receivable or a related financial role.
  • Demonstrated experience in AR management, including invoicing, collections, reconciliation, and cash flow optimization.
  • Strong knowledge of cannabis industry regulations, including taxation, compliance, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with accounting and financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms).
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions to enhance AR performance.
  • Strong leadership capabilities and experience managing or mentoring a team.
  • Comfortable working in a fully remote environment with excellent time management and self-motivation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with automated AR software and systems.
  • Knowledge of multi-state cannabis operations, including varying regulatory and financial environments.
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple time zones with global teams.
