Job Summary

The UCLA Center for Cannabis and Cannabinoids is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Operations and Grant Administration Supervisor. This role will be responsible for managing the operations and overseeing pre- and post-award activities for the Center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the operations of the UCLA Cannabis and Cannabinoid Research Laboratory
  • Oversee pre- and post-award activities for the Center
  • Provide immediate oversight of the UCLA Psychedelic Studies Initiative
  • Develop and manage grant applications
  • Ensure timely preparation and submission of grant applications
  • Operate the Center efficiently
  • Accurately report financial information on Contracts & Grants
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 10 years or more of financial, clerical or administrative experience
  • 5 years or more of research administration experience
  • Prior experience in managing clinical trials dealing with scheduled substances
  • Active CITI HIPAA and CITI Good Clinical Practice certifications
  • Strong writing skills in a variety of styles
  • Demonstrated knowledge of effective grant funding processes, procedures and techniques
  • Ability to perform complex financial analysis and customized reporting
  • Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate information in a timely, professional manner
  • Ability to set priorities and complete ongoing tasks with competing deadlines
  • Analytical skills to assess financial information and define problems
  • Organization skills to create and maintain administrative and financial files
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe and Microsoft suite software
  • Mathematical skills for the preparation of complex calculations and forecasts
  • Knowledge of and experience working with a variety of external sponsors
  • Working knowledge of various financial concepts, research administration policies and procedures, and contract and grant funding agency guidelines
