Accounting/Financial Supervisor, USC Hospitality

As a key member of the USC Auxiliary Services team, the Accounting/Financial Supervisor will play a critical role in ensuring the financial integrity of our operations. This position will lead the accounting team in gathering and examining financial reports, identifying areas for improvement, and developing innovative solutions to visualize, manage, and monitor our budgets.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, methods, and practices, with experience in supervising and training staff. They will be responsible for monitoring and reviewing work for accuracy and timeliness, identifying and correcting errors, and ensuring adherence to internal operating policies and procedures.
The Accounting/Financial Supervisor will also be responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating internal reviews and audits, implementing corrective actions as directed by management. They will serve as a resource for other University offices, staff, and external contacts, providing interpretation and guidance on complex financial matters.

- Supervise the work of accounting assistants and/or technicians.
- Monitor and review work for accuracy and timeliness.
- Train staff in operating procedures.
- Monitor internal financial operations.
- Collect and format data for special projects and management studies.
- Prepare various financial reports, as required.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate internal reviews and audits.
- Advise on Auxiliary Service specific policies and procedures.
- Serve as a resource for other University offices, staff, and external contacts.
- Oversee day-to-day accounting transactions (A/R, A/P, inventory) and lead month end close processes.
- Ensure compliance with USC's internal accounting policies, GAAP and any applicable tax requirements.
- Report month end results along with variance commentary against prior year/budget and partner with operations to identify opportunities to increase revenue/reduce costs.
- Drive productivity and efficiency across Hospitality operations and finance.
