Position Overview:
The current opening is within the Ambulatory Care division, which encompasses a network of primary and specialty care clinics throughout the region.

Aligned with the mission of the Ventura County Health Care Agency, our dedicated team of healthcare professionals strives to set the benchmark for excellence in health services.

As a vital member of the healthcare team, the Registered Dietitian is tasked with conducting comprehensive nutrition assessments for patients. Dietitians are responsible for creating and executing personalized nutrition care plans, providing nutrition therapy, and making necessary adjustments to treatment as required.

Key Responsibilities:
In addition to the core responsibilities, incumbents may also engage in educational initiatives for colleagues, including resident physicians, and provide outpatient education at various clinic locations.

Department:
Health Care Agency - Ambulatory Care

The positions of Registered Dietitian II and III are represented by the Service Employees' International Union (SEIU) and are eligible for overtime compensation.

Qualifications:
Registered Dietitian II requires a Bachelor's degree in nutrition, dietetics, or a related field, current registration with the Commission of Dietetic Registration (CDR), and two years of clinical experience. Registered Dietitian III requires similar qualifications with three years of clinical experience.

Necessary Special Requirements:
All candidates must be bilingual in English and Spanish and complete Continuing Education Units (CEUs) as mandated by CDR for continued employment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Candidates should possess a solid understanding of nutrition sciences, diet therapy, and clinical policies. The ability to perform nutrition assessments, develop care plans, and effectively communicate with patients and healthcare professionals is essential.

This position may also involve participation in community outreach and educational events as needed.
