We are collaborating with our client to identify a dedicated Clinical Pharmacy Manager to enhance their dynamic team. This is a legitimate requirement, not a speculative search.
The Director of Inpatient Pharmacy and Compliance will oversee the management of the inpatient pharmacy team, which includes Clinical Pharmacists, Staff Pharmacists, Technicians, and Clerks. Key operational duties involve ensuring adherence to regulatory standards set by governing bodies such as BOP, FDA, DEA, and DNV pharmacy regulations, alongside implementing best practices. Organizational responsibilities encompass program oversight and development, as well as participation in various committees. This includes staff training, P&T, MERP, ASP, diversion oversight, and the enhancement of clinical services.
Compensation Overview:
- $136.18 per hour
- Attractive Sign-on Bonus
Key Responsibilities:
- Guarantee compliance with all licensing and regulatory requirements for all pharmacy locations (both inpatient and outpatient, including IV rooms).
- Maintain departmental policies, including drafting and revising documentation.
- Provide oversight for diversion prevention and manage the Diversion Specialist.
- Lead clinical staff development initiatives, including pharmacy residency programs and ambulatory pharmacy services.
- Supervise Pharmacy Intern programs through partnerships with educational institutions.
- Facilitate Staff Pharmacist development to attain clinical status.
- Guide Technician Staff development, including chemotherapy compounding and Tech check Tech programs.
- Oversee pharmacy operations at designated facilities.
- Implement Antibiotic Stewardship initiatives across various healthcare settings.
- Ensure IV room compliance at designated facilities.
- Maintain Specialty pharmacy accreditation.
- Engage in assigned committees, including P&T, MERP, ASP, and Medicine.
- Support the Medical Residency program through clinical contributions.
- Supervise the activities of all pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and clerks within the inpatient pharmacy, including hiring and performance evaluations.
- Review and contribute to financial forecasts, budget proposals, and quality outcome reports.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Supervisory Duties:
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the inpatient pharmacy staff, including Clinical Pharmacists, Staff Pharmacists (including leads), Interns, Diversion Specialist, Technicians (including leads), and Clerks.
Execute supervisory responsibilities in alignment with the organization's policies and applicable regulations. This includes interviewing, hiring, and training staff; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing concerns and resolving issues.
Qualifications:
- Current CA Pharmacist License
- Five years of experience in inpatient pharmacy
- Two years of managerial experience in an inpatient setting
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex ideas to senior management and various stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Chemotherapy Infusion
- Familiarity with Epic systems
