Position Overview

As an Information Technology Supervisor at Penn Foster Inc, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing all IT operations and ensuring alignment with business objectives. Your leadership will be essential in driving technology initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and support organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, security, and environmental policies.
  • Manage and coordinate all IT-related functions, focusing on delivering value to the organization.
  • Lead the implementation of IT applications and technologies through collaboration with third-party vendors and business leaders.
  • Assist the IT Director in planning and managing budgets for IT activities, ensuring expenses align with financial goals.
  • Review and approve IT expenditures, participating in budgetary discussions and managing costs effectively.
  • Collaborate with technology service vendors to ensure optimal service delivery.
  • Work closely with business representatives and vendors to define project scopes, allocate resources, and resolve issues.
  • Provide hands-on support for applications and manage project timelines to ensure quality delivery.
  • Oversee changes to the IT applications environment, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Document and implement IT efficiencies by staying informed about industry best practices and engaging the team in continuous improvement efforts.
  • Communicate IT project updates and impacts to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and understanding.
  • Manage team activities, including timecard approvals and leave requests.
  • Participate in recruitment, retention, mentoring, and performance management of IT staff.
  • Maintain system protocols by developing and updating operational procedures.
  • Be available for after-hours support as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Equivalent experience may substitute for educational requirements on a one-to-one basis.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in IT leadership and team management.
  • Experience in vendor management within the technology sector.

Skills and Competencies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a deep understanding of application architecture and system design.
  • Proficient in SQL, Microsoft Office Suite, and project management tools.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and provide effective mentoring.
  • Demonstrated project management skills with a history of successful project delivery.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to adapt to rapid changes and make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Familiarity with Trimble Transportation Products is a plus.
