Position Overview:

MV Transportation is in search of a skilled Safety and Compliance Training Supervisor. This role is pivotal in ensuring the implementation of safety programs and adherence to both State and Federal regulations, as well as corporate and client policies. The supervisor will provide leadership at the division level to support paratransit operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and update all safety manuals, programs, policies, and practices to align with the operational needs of the divisions.
  • Serve as the authority on EPA and OSHA, FTA compliance, and regulations.
  • Verify that all new employees fulfill the minimum qualifications for each division, including background and DMV checks.
  • Utilize safety technology tools to analyze trends and develop plans aimed at reducing and preventing future safety incidents.
  • Oversee the effective management of corporate safety incentives and programs, including the assignment of Safety Points.
  • Foster a consistent safety culture across all locations, integrating operations, safety, and maintenance departments, while promoting teamwork and individual accountability.
  • Collaborate with corporate claims staff to ensure prompt and effective handling of all liability and worker's compensation claims, aiming to minimize financial liability and recover on subrogatable claims.
  • Proactively manage employee injury claims to reduce lost time and light duty claims.
  • Coordinate with local medical facilities to facilitate the swift return of injured employees to full-duty status.
  • Ensure successful completion of all related audits conducted by corporate, client staff, and regulatory agencies.
  • Lead safety training initiatives, including classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction, in accordance with corporate and client specifications.

Qualifications:
  • Experience in transit safety.
  • Background in urban public transit is preferred.
  • Prior experience in passenger transportation within a similar environment is advantageous.
  • A college degree or a minimum of five (5) years of safety management experience is required.
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable safety regulations, including FTA, FMCSA, and DOT.
  • Familiarity with corporate safety programs and policies.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with all departments.
