As a Buyer, you are a seasoned, commercially astute, and product-centric leader poised to elevate our expanding Outlet business. You will collaborate with management, retail locations, and cross-functional teams (including digital, planning, design, and global merchandising) to pinpoint opportunities, devise, and implement strategies that cultivate robust assortments aimed at meeting and exceeding the financial targets of the division. Your responsibilities will encompass managing the Outlet Apparel & Footwear product selection, along with overseeing the product lifecycle within our retail environments. As the Buyer, you possess exceptional communication, analytical, and innovative problem-solving abilities, thriving in a dynamic and entrepreneurial setting.
What You'll Do:
- Formulate buying and merchandising strategies for the Outlet Apparel & Footwear sector that align with the financial objectives of the division and the organization.
- Oversee the buying process from inception to completion, including collaboration in product development.
- Conduct business analysis to monitor sales, identify significant trends, and optimize assortment opportunities to ensure ongoing growth and profitability of the Lifestyle division.
- Advise on timely markdowns/promotions for products and reorder best-selling items. Provide insights based on analysis to strategically enhance and influence the business.
- Collaborate closely with planning and allocation teams to implement merchandising strategies. Work with store management to ensure optimal assortments are achieved.
- Partner with the planning team to create and execute seasonal plans, merchandising, and promotional strategies across all classifications.
- Build and leverage cross-functional relationships to generate business opportunities, particularly with Digital, Visual Merchandising, Global Merchandising, and Design teams.
- Manage assortment sheets, pricing/conversion files, markdowns, and on-order items.
- Oversee the growth and development of direct reports.
You'll Need to Have:
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in Retail Buying or Merchandising.
- A Bachelor's degree.
- Experience in the Apparel & Footwear sector.
- The capability to present product strategies to leadership with clear verbal and written communication.
- Proficiency in computer applications and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience in managing people.
