About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and bilingual sales professional to join our team at Mutual Trading Co., Inc. as an Inside Sales Assistant. This is a unique opportunity to work with a leading Japanese foodservice supplier and contribute to the company's growth and success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inside Sales Duty (40%):
    • Process and manage sales orders, invoices, and bill-back data within our database.
    • Monitor inventory levels and ensure ordered items are in stock.
    • Update and maintain customer records in our database.
    • Collect payments from customers and generate receipts.
    • Enter credit card and ACH transaction information in our portal site.
    • Provide excellent customer service and build rapport with clients.
    • Answer customer questions about products, procedures, and payments.
    • Troubleshoot delivery problems and resolve issues.
    • Update and prepare sales materials.
    • Report any inventory or service issues to the account manager.
    • Collaborate with the sales team to monitor active purchase orders.
    • Scribe meetings and distribute meeting minutes.
    • Create sales and marketing materials.
    • Attend company events and functions.
  • PPM Duty (30%):
    • Communicate with customers to issue purchase orders based on their needs.
    • Coordinate with manufacturers and vendors to ensure timely product shipment.
    • Prepare and maintain shipping documents for exports.
    • Communicate with customers and freight forwarders to resolve delivery issues.
    • Collect payments from customers.
  • Sushi School Duty (30%):
    • Drive company vehicles to purchase food materials and transport students.
    • Use QuickBooks for bookkeeping, A/R, A/P, and daily journals.
    • Maintain and update the Sushi school website.
    • Answer student inquiries about class information and tuition fees.
    • Support Sushi school instructors to handle student inquiries.
    • Coordinate with local restaurants and hotels for recruitment.
    Requirements
    • Language Skills:
      • Business-level English (read, write, speak, listen)
      • Business-level Japanese (read, write, speak, listen)
    • Education:
      • High School Diploma required
      • Bachelor's Degree and above preferred
    • Experience:
      • 2+ years of relevant experience preferred
    • Skills:
      • Clerical/administrative support
      • Basic mathematical knowledge
      • Problem-solving skills
      • Basic Microsoft Office proficiency
      • Communication and interpersonal skills
