POSITION SUMMARY

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is integral in steering and supervising the financial operations of the corporation. This role encompasses the preparation of financial reports and forecasts, alongside managing daily financial activities and providing strategic financial guidance to secure the company's long-term success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the preparation of all financial documents, including income statements, balance sheets, and tax returns.
  • Analyze profit forecasts against actual figures and adjust future projections as necessary.
  • Review and enhance the financial planning process.
  • Identify operational areas requiring restructuring or downsizing.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and other executives to align planning priorities.
  • Examine long-term economic trends and their potential impact on market share.
  • Manage investment strategies and liaise with investment bankers for capital acquisition.
  • Ensure effective cash management and oversee all financial reporting and budgeting.
  • Develop and implement best practices for fiscal management and organizational flexibility.
  • Stay compliant with financial regulations by monitoring legislative changes.
  • Assist senior management in crafting budget proposals and ensuring compliance with contracts.
  • Research and analyze revenue opportunities and internal operations for cost efficiency.
  • Conduct risk assessments and manage capital structure initiatives.
  • Monitor business performance and prepare detailed reports for management.
  • Supervise the Accounting department and audit processes.
  • Collaborate with department heads to evaluate performance and recommend improvements.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Deep understanding and appreciation of Inupiat culture.
  • Strong management and leadership capabilities.
  • Exceptional analytical and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in accounting software and database management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance.
  • 8-10 years of experience in financial management.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance.
  • CPA designation is advantageous.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Moderate travel may be necessary.
