The Senior Administrative Specialist will deliver a comprehensive range of customer service solutions. The core responsibilities include evaluating and processing exemptions for Senior Citizens, Residential properties, Disabled Veterans, and Military Service/Widow and Widower categories. This will involve utilizing analytical tools to assess and investigate data from municipal databases and external sources to ascertain eligibility for relevant exemptions in accordance with Municipal Code and Alaska Statute.

Key competencies include the ability to interpret and apply Municipal Code concerning exemptions, ensuring that applicants fulfill the necessary qualifications to obtain an exemption.

Furthermore, the role requires the capacity to provide recommendations to ineligible applicants regarding potential removal of exemptions that align with departmental standards and policies.

The Senior Administrative Specialist will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records within the municipal database and will provide support to the Board of Equalization. This position will serve as a vital resource for the Administrative Representative II, ensuring that customers receive the high-quality service they expect.

Qualifications:
A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required, along with three (3) years of customer service experience or an equivalent background.

Preferences:
Experience with the Alaska Association of Assessing Officers (AAAO) in Assessment Administration is preferred. Priority will be given to employees within the Anchorage Municipal Employees Association (AMEA).

Successful AMEA candidates in the screening process will be forwarded to the department for consideration prior to any non-AMEA applicants.
