Job Title: Human Resources Coordinator
About the Role:
The Alexandria Area YMCA is seeking an experienced Human Resources Coordinator to support employees and their work. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of human resources principles, practices, procedures, and state and federal regulations.
About You:
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, Management or related field and/or equivalent experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruitment and Onboarding: Implement a recruitment plan to meet staffing needs and organization priorities; assist operations team with interviewing and cause-driven onboarding and training.
- Employee Relations: Communicate with organization leadership about supervisor communication, feedback, recognition, and interaction with employees.
- Data Reporting: In conjunction with leadership, manage, update, organize and submit assigned monthly, quarterly and annual employee data reports and interpret data.
- Safety and Risk Management: In conjunction with leadership, organize, track and monitor safety and risk management training.
- Employee Engagement: Administer annual employee surveys; present results and assist with the implementation of goals.
- Background Checks: Complete and manage required association background checks.
- Personnel Files: Manage, update and audit employee personnel files.
- Employee Recognition: Lead employee engagement efforts, including anniversary and birthday recognition, and monthly employee communication.
- Committee Leadership: Lead employee engagement committee, to promote employee engagement and positive work environment.
- Conflict Resolution: Collaborate with operations team and Finance & Human Resources Director to investigate and resolve employee issues and conflicts.
- Policies and Procedures: In conjunction with organization leadership administer employee handbook and Human Resources policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Committee Support: Organize and support quarterly Human Resources Committee meetings.
What We Offer:
The Alexandria Area YMCA offers a competitive salary range of $40,000 - $52,000 per year, depending on experience.
