Purpose and Role of Job:

The Maintenance Manager I is responsible for the overall maintenance of the Paper Machines, ensuring all team members' goals are aligned with department objectives and resources are allocated effectively to meet these goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop a safe work culture by adhering to and maintaining all company safety rules, policies, and standards.
  • Exhibit strong core leadership skills, including accountability, credibility, and trust, and demonstrate leadership behaviors that lead to business results.
  • Be a role model demonstrating the FQT "Rules of Engagement" and ensure coaching, discipline, recognition, and handling of situations is consistent with HR policy.
  • Grow hourly and salaried reports into their next role and appraise and evaluate all exempt and non-exempt employees as required.
  • Manage the Paper Machine Maintenance team to be a world-class maintenance organization and utilize and promote the usage of the CMMS system to provide direction and assistance to maintenance personnel.
  • Promote growth of the maintenance team by providing leadership in the development and implementation of root cause analysis, precision maintenance techniques, preventive maintenance programs, new equipment installations, and reliability improvements.
  • Analyze operational data and equipment performance history to deliver improvements in critical maintenance-related metrics, including unplanned downtime, PM compliance, schedule compliance, Mean-Time-Between Failures, and maintenance-related costs.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in team leadership towards the implementation of maintenance goals and objectives.
  • 10 years' experience in the maintenance field, with three to five years' experience in a Maintenance Supervisory position.
  • Deep understanding of the planning and scheduling of maintenance work functions as they apply to predictive, preventive, precision, proactive, and planned maintenance.
  • Standard knowledge of O.S.H.A laws and regulations within the manufacturing field.
  • Fundamental knowledge of Worker's compensation rules, regulations, and an understanding of employee relations.
  • Strong human relations and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced comprehension of the paper mill equipment mechanical/electrical functions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills in aiding the reliability of the operation.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office products.
