About the Role:

Aroostook Mental Health Services, Inc. is seeking a qualified Substance Use Disorder Counselor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing a strong clinical relationship with individuals seeking substance use assessment and treatment interventions to begin their recovery process.

The Substance Use Disorder Counselor will work directly with referral sources and the community to provide dynamic interventions with substance users and/or their families, and advocate to access community resources that offer a coordinated effort to support the substance user in meeting their individual treatment goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide compassionate bio-psycho-social services that demonstrate respect to clients, client's families, and the community.
  • Offer co-occurring services to individuals as needed, demonstrating Aroostook Mental Health Services, Inc.'s service focus treatment by creating individualized plans.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships to continue cooperative relationships with providers and the community.
  • Demonstrate Aroostook Mental Health Services, Inc.'s integrity by providing case management functions to continue all services with excellence.
  • Provide compassionate individual, group, and family counseling for clients, family, and the community.

Requirements:

  • A high school Diploma or equivalent is required, plus a minimum of 1 year of formal or life experience is required.
  • CADC or LADC required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relatable field is preferred.
